Rapper Nadia Nakai is suffering as she tries to deal with the loss of her partner, rapper AKA.

She has turned to the one thing that used to be a comfort to her and AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes.

AKA was buried on Saturday at Heroes Acre in Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg.

Sharing a thread of pictures they captured during his life, she accompanied them with a Bible verse.

“O God, come to my assistance; O Lord hurry to help me. Please take the consuming anguish I feel right now; Take it from me and hold me in your arms. Heal my broken heart and bind my wounds. Amen Psalm 147:3,” she captioned the post.

At the memorial service for AKA on Friday, mourners gathered at the Sandton Convention Centre and those who streamed the service, heard Pastor Kabelo Mabalane relay how the pair were attending church together.

A few days ago Nadia broke her silence and said her heart was shattered.

“My heart is shattered. This is not what our future was meant to look like. I can’t believe I said my final goodbye to you yesterday. I’ll never see you again for the rest of my lifetime? You loved me loud and proud, thank you baby. Protected me, prayed for me, inspired me. I find it hard to breathe, let alone find the words to explain how much I love you,” she wrote.

Mourning the loss of the rapper, Anatii, who has a joint album with AKA, posted a tribute on his Instagram timeline.

“You were definitely a force to be reckoned with bro. we had many ups and downs and shared many beautiful moments together, some public and others very private. When we worked on BCWYWF it was a transformative period in our lives, being able to harness the power of forgiveness and focusing on the bigger picture and path God laid out for us.”
