Black Brain recently shared the behind the scenes of DiepCity's final episode.
Taking to their Instagram timeline the crew explained scenes they were shooting.
“As the final day of filming DiepCity arrived, a sense of sadness began to creep in. We knew that soon our time together on DiepCity would come to an end, and we would be compelled to say goodbye to a dream achieved by our producers, cast and crew. Even though we were sad to say goodbye, we are grateful for the time we’ve spent together making the best telenovela in Mzansi. And so, as we packed up our equipment for the last time, we felt a bittersweet mix of emotions — sadness for the end of an era, but gratitude for the incredible experience and memories that will last a lifetime.”
At the Royalty Soapie Awards held on March 11, Black Brain won Outstanding Lighting direction for BlackDoor.
They also scooped the Social Cohesion and Outstanding Writing Team nods for DiepCity season 2.

Creative director of the production company, Mandla N, was humbled by everyone who contributed to the show.
“It’s never easy wrapping a show, especially one as powerful as DiepCity. I’ll forever be humbled and grateful for the passion, hard work, and love every single cast and crew member put into this story. We literally built every piece of this world from the ground up, and it has been a pleasure seeing how much talent South Africa still has to offer.
“We discovered new talent, trained directors, writers and producers through this epic story and that gives me peace in knowing that as much as the show has come to an end, we launched careers.”
