Raphael Benza tells why AKA's former label shared post of Cassper Nyovest

Raphael Benza has poured cold water on speculation that his record label signed rapper Cassper Nyovest. 

This after a post of Cassper promoting an upcoming “Blankets and Wine” event, set to take place in Kampala, Uganda on April 20, was shared on the Vth Season Instagram page.

“Cassper in Kampala next Month at @blanketsandwineug ... For Africa Wide bookings for all African Talent pls contact ... Bookings@vthseason.com. Tours, shows and concerts!!!” reads the post.

The post quickly shot up the trends list and caused an uproar on social media as fans questioned how AKA's former record label could share his nemesis on their page.

Record label executive Raphael Benza took to his timeline to set the record straight.

“We have not signed Cassper Nyovest in any shape or form. Cassper is a talented artist and has an extremely capable team. Don’t get distracted,” he wrote. 

Explaining to TshisaLIVE, Raphael said Vth Talent is the booking agency of Vth Season specialising in tours, shows and concerts curation and bookings in Africa, which has been instrumental in booking South African artists on many African stages.

Raphael said their booking agency had always maintained a close relationship with Blankets & Wine in Uganda, and had been in communication with them regarding their preferred South African performers.

“Cassper Nyovest as a South African act has been booked by us three times into the rest of Africa. We work closely with his team to source, secure and execute brilliant and exciting shows on the continent.” 

Responding to the backlash on social media, Raphael said they were sensitive to comments raised by users regarding the post and made necessary adjustments. 

"We hear them and understand. They needed clarity and we have done so and re-worded the advertising post for the Blanket and Wine show in Kampala."
