'This is love' — Melinda Bam welcomes her bundle of joy

Congratulations are in order for Melinda Bam and her husband after they recently welcomed their first child together.

The former Miss South Africa excitedly announced the arrival of their child on Instagram, sharing a picture of her holding her newborn baby boy's hand with the caption: “But this ... this is something more, it’s something holy — sacred ... this is love. Yes, we’ve gone into hiding the last three weeks. We wanted to drink in every moment and view it through our awe-struck teary eyes. It really has been a sacred time.”

Since disclosing her pregnancy in late January, Melinda has been penning heartfelt messages to her baby boy and praising her partner for being supportive.

“Every minute of that has been in your presence and in wonder and awe of what you are doing, creating, preparing. As much as you’ve created and formed this boy in my womb, You have shone on areas that have never seen light in us before, awakening parenthood in a glorious sunrise. What a gift, what a wait, what an awakening, what a father!” she wrote.

In another post, Melinda reflected on her pregnancy journey saying she would miss carrying her baby boy in her womb. 

“I will miss you little pitter patter, hick-up taps and tiny rolls and punches inside my tummy ... I will miss feeling you when no-one could see you, hugging my tummy knowing I’ll hold you in my arms soon ... it was a sacred time with your tiny perfect body growing inside me. I felt our miracle working God working in me daily ... I will forever be in awe and wonder of the gift to bear your life,” she wrote.
