Masechaba Ndlovu is excited about her new chapter after stepping down from her post as spokesperson for former sport, arts and culture minister Nathi Mthethwa.

This after Zizi Kodwa replaced Mthethwa in President Cyril Ramaphosa's cabinet reshuffle in March.

Acting spokesperson Zimasa Velaphi told TshisaLIVE: “Minister Kodwa is still settling in and once we know who the spokesperson is [we] will communicate that.”

On Tuesday, Masechaba took to her social media timelines announcing the news to her followers with the caption: “It has been an honour to serve in government over the past three years. I leave this space excited to begin the next chapter of my career as I grow in my God-given purpose. Old energy is clearing, new energy is entering and great things are on the horizon.”

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Masechaba said she was looking forward to getting back into broadcasting, business and humanitarian work.

“My appointment in the government was linked to the former minister's term in office. When I was headhunted for the position, I answered to the calling as a service to my country and became a communications strategist serving in a political office.

“Beyond that, I have no desire to continue my career in the government sector. I'm ready for a new challenge and I'm looking forward to spreading my wings as a broadcaster, businesswoman and humanitarian,” she said.

Masechaba launched her music career in March 2022, releasing her first song titled Vela.

When asked if the her fans should expect new music from her, Masechaba was evasive, saying; “Anything and everything is possible. The world is my oyster now.”
