Celebs have shrugged off CEO Elon Musk's decision to charge for blue-cheque verification on Twitter.
From Thursday, the South African-born businessman put to effect his idea to make Twitter less dependent on advertising after purchasing the social network for $44bn (about R802bn).
Users have to pay $8 (around R145) a month to subscribe to Twitter Blue so they can be verified.
The new Twitter “blue” saw Grammy award-winning DJ Black Coffee, comedian Trevor Noah and other notable figures lose their verification badges.
Reacting to the changes, actress Kgomotso Christopher, rapper Cassper Nyovest and others were seemingly unbothered.
“I'm seeing all these messages about this Blue Tick story. Letsetse le bo putswa. Bona, Elon must understand we have more important issues to worry about mohae. And frankly, we've exhausted our “Yhos” in the past few weeks. Twirling into No Blue Tick life, ha monate jwang,” Kgomotso wrote.
“There’s always been fake accounts. Not really my problem the way I see it. I don’t take Twitter that seriously if I’m being honest, so nah,” Sizwe Dhlomo.
When a fan asked Cassper whether he would be subscribing to the new Twitter, he simply responded: “Nope, I'm verified in the streets.”
