'I wouldn’t trade it for the world' — Nomuzi Mabena on her time at Cash Time
The era of Cash Time had Mzansi jamming to their hits, and Nomuzi Mabena has shed some light on her time at the stable, saying it was a team effort and she wouldn't trade it for the world.
In a recent interview she did with The Sobering Podcast, media personality Nomuzi Mabena said: “I think just like the camaraderie and the dust because that’s like been non-stop, it was a cultural phenomenon,” she said. “You kind of had to be there, and even if sometimes you’ll be just at the robot and see like a guy walking past in the bootleg Cash Time and you will be just like ...”
She was known as the Skhanda Queen and has nothing but appreciation for K.O, whom she thanked for a hassle-free exit from Cash Time.
“Cash Time was really crazy, and people won’t even know the amount of work that went behind that. When we took the tracksuits, I was the Skhanda Queen driving the van to Pretoria to go drop the tracksuits. Ma-E Does It was running that whole thing, but people won’t see it like that, they just think you guys are cool. We were using our hands, our sweat and our blood to make that thing happen,” said Moozlie.
Addressing what broke down her relationship with Cash Time, Moozlie said: “There was no contract which in retrospect was a blessing in disguise, and I think that’s why I actually can thank K.O because he wasn’t selfish.”
K.O cleared the air on Trending SA about the split back in 2018.
“Unfortunately, I ended up getting the short end of the stick because it was made to look like people were purely moving based on the fact that K.O didn't want them to blossom, and instead of people standing up on their own two feet on some ‘bro, that is not actually the case, we are leaving because we want to go pursue other opportunities ... some people took comfort in the fact that people were just blaming me on that level, so it broke my heart,” he said.
