Fans of Bonginkosi “Kid X” Mahlangu are in for a treat as the rapper has launched his YouTube channel.

Kid X said he was inspired by DJ Sbu's challenge to upload content every day for a year.

He had thought of “10 million channels” as he's got an interest in many things but decided to call his channel The Wholesome Institute so he can share anything that comes to mind at the time.

“I like soccer, I like reading so I might want to review some books, I like playing chess. Family is my thing, I’m a father, I’m a husband. I might want to talk about everything that comes with that,” he said.

“I like hip-hop and I thought it actually better maybe to group these things and put it on one channel. So this platform is going to address everything that Kid X likes. We are going to chop it up, we going to make sure that people get to the bottom of this guy. He’s been so quiet about who he is. Who is he?

“We’re going to unmask the man, we’re going to solve for X, that’s what the Wholesome Institute is essentially for. So I want to invite everybody to kick back, relax and brace yourself.”

This YouTube venture comes after Kid X was announced as the host of a new show The Hanger on Trace Urban.

Fans have been questioning the star about whether he will still be releasing music.

In a recent episode, Kid X finally spoke of his music career and now has his fans anticipating his next release.

“People know me as a musician and they want to know. So to that, I say to you, there’s definitely music on the way. There’s a project that’s almost 80% done.

“I’m super excited about that, I think it's the best music I’ve made in my entire life. It’s the best rapping I’ve done in my entire life, so I can’t wait for you to feast on that and you guys will be getting that as soon as we can tie up the loose ends.”
