Kwesta reflected on hardships, his last moments with Nkululeko “Flabba” Habedi and the challenges of shooting the remix to his hit song Do Like I Do Remix.
Flabba was stabbed in the chest at his Alexandra, Gauteng home in 2015 by his ex-girlfriend Sindisiwe Manqele, who was sentenced to 12 years' imprisonment for murder and released on parole after serving half her sentence on May 24 2022.
In a recent sit-down on The Hustlers Corner, the rapper spoke of the respect he had for the late star.
“It was terrible, and they had to come up with a post edit. Flabba is the grootman I’ve always respected just as a grootman, forget the raps. I’ve always thought he was an amazing rapper. Out of Skwatta Kamp my favourites were him and Bozza. I respected him, I respected how he loved the hood, I respected how he loved beer,” he said.
Kwesta spoke about his last encounter with the rapper at a hip hop event.
“I think the last time I saw him was at Back To The City on the steps. We were both about to get on the stage doing Do Like I Do and we were waiting for our part. That was the last time I saw him, and in a couple of days we were shooting the video of the remix. So that was terrible, it didn’t feel good.”

Having been in the industry for 16 years, Kwesta is set to commemorate the strides he's taken in the entertainment business performing all his music.
“Half the people I've worked with are people I have met, people I've hung out with,” he told TshisaLIVE.
Kwesta has made more friends with people pursuing the same career. From rapper Kid X, to amapiano sensation Kabza De Small, Kwesta's circle has been growing bigger.
“I should be able to pick up the phone when I'm struggling with my own personal issues as Senzo. I should be able to call a friend, I don’t want to call an artist at that time, I want to call a friend who can help me with the situation I am going through. I have friends in the industry.”
