AKA's father Tony Forbes has announced limited edition tribute merch will soon be available for purchase in honour of the slain rapper.

Taking to his Instagram timeline Tony penned a lengthy post describing the partnership with street wear brand Cultish.

“To honour AKA's remarkable life and expressive connection with Cultish®️, we decided to release a limited-edition tribute garment. This special piece embodies the essence of our collaboration and serves as a celebration of AKA's artistic journey. Furthermore, it pays homage to the AKA's unique style, his indomitable spirit, and the profound impact he made on all of us.”

He said the collabo serves as a reminder of what can arise when fashion and music converge.

“As fans and admirers, let us embrace this limited edition tribute garment, wearing it proudly as a symbol of the passion, artistry, and resilience that AKA embodied. Together, let us remember and celebrate the life of an extraordinary artist whose influence will continue to resonate with us for generations to come. Proceeds from the limited edition tribute collection will be donated to the Forbes and Tsobanoglou families.”

AKA, who was shot dead outside a restaurant in Durban on February 10, recently won Metro FM Awards for Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Hip Hop Artist and Best Male Artist.

AKA’s father, mother Lynn, daughter Kairo, business partner Raphael Benza, friend Simphiwe “Sim Dope” Gumede and others visited Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg with the awards where the rapper was laid to rest.

“Congratulations my boy. You lived your dream. I am so proud of you. Thank you, everyone who voted, thank you so much. Thank you for all the love. I love you,” Tony captioned his post on Instagram.
