Media personality Pearl Thusi was in Rwanda recently to attend the unveiling of a basketball court in Kimironko, Kigali.

Taking to her Instagram timeline she shared snaps she took with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and seasoned actor Boris Kodjoe, among others.

“Honoured to be part of the powerful and impactful work changing the landscape of Africa by these African giants. I am so blessed to have watched the seed of this extraordinary work grow into what we see today.

“I hope to contribute more to grow basketball culture in the world and support the life-changing legacy and purpose basketball has for the lives of millions on our great continent,” she wrote.

Pearl said meeting the Rwandan president moved her “exponentially”.

“His humility, discipline and aura has reminded me that the possibilities are not only endless, but beyond the moment we dedicate our efforts to if we want to change and improve the world of those we love.

“The future is something we build to live beyond our own understanding and plans if the foundation we give it is strong enough for any ideas and leaders of the future to build on.”

She said her chats with Boris were life-changing.

“Our conversations have been deeply meaningful and I can’t wait to apply the advice you’ve given me. Not only are you talented, humble, kind and thoughtful, your love for family and the time you make for everyone around you to feel seen is something I’ll keep with me always.

“I can’t wait to get home and apply your guidance. Thank you for remembering home and nurturing your roots.”
