Israel Matseke-Zulu has weighed in on how success is displayed on social media.

The actor shared his views on his YouTube podcast, saying people needed to be cognisant of the thin line between motivating people on social media and an over-display of a lifestyle.

“I respect and understand that we don't have to be apologetic about our success. But why do we have to show our success by posting a car? Why do you have to post the whole of your life on social media? You need to post when you eat, when you swim, when you bought a car? Why don't we buy a business?” he said.

“Why are we posting liabilities? Liabilities that are expensive. Why should you post money just because you have it?

“I am not jealous. I just feel like we are obsessed with things that don't have value. We need to wake up, otherwise things won't change.”

Reality TV star Faith Nketsi has also spoke out on the topic, urging people to stop envying others based on what they post on their socials.

“One more time! What you see on social media is 70% fictional. Nobody will show you a true story. Stop idolising and sbwling others.”
