Rapper Rouge and her longtime partner Macmillan Mabaleka announced they were engaged — and naturally, whenever people hear such news, the question that follows is: how did he propose?

The couple have been together for nine years and this past weekend they made things official.

They shared a clip of how it all went down on their socials and the news was met with congratulatory messages from their followers.

Fans of the rapper may wonder how her fiancé proposed. Did he go down on one knee? Was he nervous? Where were they?

Macmillan answered all those questions when he spoke to 5 Drive's host and explained how he had jitters before he proposed. He also hinted they might not wait too long for the big day because they've been dating for nine years.

“I got down on one knee on Saturday and South Africa shook metaphorically and physically. I had a speech and everything, but that went out the window. I just went on like a babbling fool. I'm just glad she said yes and it was in front of the family,” he explained.

When asked when the big day will be, he said soon.

“It's been a nine-year relationship, I don't want to make her a fiancée for too long, so we will keep you posted.”

Taking to her Twitter timeline, the rapper shared her big news with her followers.

Here I thought June 10 would just be my baptism date and giving my life to God again. Nope, Rouge is engaged ... of course it was going to be him,” she wrote.
