Tinotenda “Tino” Chinyani has really grown into his role as a father and is enjoying every minute of it.

The model and TV presenter, who has a three-year-old son with actress Simphiwe "Quing Simz" Ngema, spoke about the joys of fatherhood during an interview on YFM

"I've always wanted to be a present father. I've always wanted to be a great dad, it's what I've always wanted to be known for, and I've always wanted to excel at that role. Also, with me and my dad, we've had a great relationship," he said.

"I think that with his teaching and his wisdom, it came naturally with Tiyane. And Tiyane is so easy to be around. He's got such a sense of humour. He's so pleasant and just the greatest ball of energy. Even when you're exhausted, he still gives you a reason to smile."

Tino and Simphiwe recently released a song titled Tiyani in honour of their son.

Tino ventured into music in December 2021, releasing his first single, Nothing For Free, the video for which features his son.

He wrote music throughout the Covid-19 lockdown and has since frequented a recording studio.

His venture into the music industry is another brick in building his Tiyani Afrika (a combination of the first two letters of his name and the last four of his surname) empire, which established a clothing brand.

“Tiyani Afrika is my legacy, it's my empire. I'm doing this for Tiyani. I'm setting things up so when he grows up ... he has everything possible planned for him for when he decides what he wants to venture into. From the clothing company, music masters ... everything is in his name.

“I wouldn't be where I am if it wasn't for him. As young as he is, I'm proud of him as young as he is. I can fail at everything, music, or fail at love, but I will not fail that boy. Fatherhood changed my life. Fatherhood has saved my life. I'm very grateful to Tiyani and Simphiwe, and what they have done for my life.”
