As Boity Thulo gears to release new music, the rapper joined the panel of detectives on The Masked Singer SA as a guest judge, witnessing celebrities explore their hidden talents.

From guessing their voices, to using their legs and travelling patterns as clues, as well as the rush of being on a TV set, Boity enjoyed every minute of it.

“It was such a fun experience, and it was unlike anything I’d ever experienced before in the TV space,” she told TshisaLIVE.

“I loved the energy, the confidence, and the whole idea behind it. First, I loved the concept of the show Masked Singer and how interactive and fun it was. Shows like this are rare these days, and it was dope to have the opportunity to be part of such an enjoyable family show. But more than anything, I enjoyed the rush of being on set, the excitement of getting ready to be on camera, and also seeing old faces behind the camera that I used to work with back in my presenting days.”

When asked whether she would ever consider getting back on television, Boity said she was now fully focused on being in the recording studio making music, “but hey, who knows what the future has in store”?

“Right now, I’m getting back in the right groove with my music as well as my entrepreneurial journey with continental growth for BT Signature,” she said.

In 2018, Boity made her debut in the music space by releasing Wuz Dat featuring Nasty C, and, later, her first EP 4436 in 2020.

After a long hiatus, Boity announced her musical comeback in early June when sharing a short clip of her doing a freestyle on her social media platforms.

“I just needed to get my things in order. There’s a lot that goes into the music business, and I felt it was important to make sure everything was tight and that we were doing things the right way. I feel like I’ve got the right team and the right energy around me to return now.

“We haven’t put a timeline to it yet [on when we'll release the new music], but I’m working really hard to make sure that I have some great new music to share with my fans soon. I’ve been working with some really talented artists and producers such as Emtee, Profound, and Christer, and we’re all looking forward to sharing some of the jams we’ve been cooking.”

While Boity has received mixed reactions on social media to the rap clips she has shared, she said she was encouraged more than ever to release new music, as there was a great yearning from her fans.

“It’s been so overwhelming. Last time I checked, my last freestyle on AKA’s Mbuzi was sitting on over a million views on both Instagram and Twitter. That’s crazy! It’s giving me even more desire to push and make sure that we get as much music ready as soon as possible because the appetite is really high.”
