WATCH | KB Motsilanyane throws back to singing national anthem at first post-Covid rugby match

Seasoned actress KB Motsilanyane took a walk down memory lane to the time she sang the national anthem before a rugby match post-Covid.

Taking to her socials, she shared the clip of the moment she said will stay with her forever.

“I couldn’t feel the ground beneath my feet. I had just experienced a moment I will never forget. The honour and privilege of leading the South African national anthem at the first 'crowd-attended' rugby match after the Covid-19 restrictions. This, at Loftus Versfeld, Bok rugby (Bokke) vs Welsh Rugby Union. It certainly was not my first time singing the anthem. The first time was in Davos at the World Economic Forum 2010, where I attended as one of the artists to perform at the South African soirée."

Her mentions were filled with congratulatory messages, with some expressing how they are proud of her.

“An honour so befitting to you, no surprises here,” wrote actress Katlego Danke. 

“Beautiful! The one entertainer I know who has been on the biggest stages, one who has worked on the best productions, one who has worked with the best of the best globally, has many accolades, however still very sweet, humble, keeps her head down and gets the job done. Without making any unnecessary noise. I stan this queen,” another added.

KB recently joined House of Zwide.

She plays advocate Nandipha Khadzi, the sister of slain Alex Khadzi, who was portrayed by award-winning actor Warren Masemola, who has since exited the show. 

Warren joined the cast of House of Zwide in September 2022, playing Funani Zwide’s (Vusi Kunene) biggest rival.

“As I welcome the new week, I also welcome a new opportunity and journey of storytelling as Nandipha Khadzi in House of Zwide Bomb Productions on e.tv,” wrote KB on her Instagram timeline.

Nandipha’s character is described as headstrong and undeterred in her quest to find out what happened to her missing brother.
