Thabiso Sikwane is grateful for a second chance at life after revealing she survived a hijacking in May.

The seasoned broadcaster took to her timeline this week, sharing a teary-eyed video of herself recalling the ordeal, where she was allegedly surrounded by three gunmen.

“That experience could have gone any way. It was a moment that I knew my heavenly father wanted to show me another side of him, that he is my protector. Just the incredible moment of seeing God in action and the truth of his word manifesting and happening to you,” she said.

While she did not intend to share her horrific experience, Thabiso said she felt compelled to share her story as a testimony.

She said even though the incident was traumatic, she prayed for the gunmen.

“Anybody who has survived a hijacking knows how traumatic it is. On that day, in that moment, knowing that I am never alone, as soon as I said, 'Papa, take over,' the most incredible thing happened. An overwhelming sense of peace.

“Remembering at that moment you are never alone and being able to say, 'Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.'

“If I didn't have a relationship with God, I would have changed that day ... I will never ever forget that night. The most powerful thing out of all is that one of those three guys or all three of them will understand and see God's power ... the holy spirit instructed me to pray for them out loud.”
