Cassper Nyovest and Kiernan “AKA” Forbes' beef was one of the biggest rivalries in the hip-hop industry.

During an interview on L-tido's podcast, Cassper said the beef started over his hit song Gusheshe. He initially wanted Okmalumkoolkat to be a feature on the song but AKA also wanted to be added and Cassper denied him.

“We were chilling, smoking outside and I said to him, ‘I want to be the greatest, biggest. ‘I’ve studied you, I’ve studied HHP, I want to be bigger and better than all of you guys’. I feel that’s what set it off.

“I had forgotten he wanted to be on Gusheshe, when Ganja Beatz reminded me about Gusheshe.”

Cassper also gave the late rapper some props on his diss track Composure.

''That song gave me sleepless nights. Whenever I heard the beat, I would be like, damn. I even started enjoying this song or something. I used to like that part he’s [AKA] hehehehe,” Cassper said. “That song really messed me up, it also messed up a lot of relationships for me because I was so mad at everyone.”

Cassper recently revealed they recorded music together and spoke of how he hoped to make amends with AKA in a boxing match.

“I said we were going to get into the boxing ring and handle it there. I said after that we would be OK and make music. Well, we do have music together that people have never heard. We made a few records together.”
