A few days after that development in court, organisers of the Tribute To Women concert, at which Kelly was set to perform, issued a statement confirming they were removing her from the line-up.
Read the statement below:
“We have noted, with concern, comments on social media platforms and calls from many patrons of our festival. We respect the legal processes and wish to indicate Ms Kelly Khumalo is innocent until proven otherwise.
“However, in the interest of safeguarding our festival, management has taken the decision to relieve Ms Khumalo of her obligations to perform at our festival this year to afford her and her team the time they require to deal with the issues emanating from the current court proceedings.”
Kelly, who recently welcomed her third child, has been scarce on social media since the trial began anew after a new judge took over proceedings.
However, she took to Twitter to slam a “troll”.
Tribute To Women concert drops Kelly Khumalo from its line-up amid Senzo Meyiwa trial developments
Kelly Khumalo, musician and former girlfriend of slain goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, lost a gig after court testimony by a state witness linked the Empini singer to one of the accused in the soccer player's murder trial.
Last week the state's fourth witness, Col Lambertus Steyn, testified he had established that Kelly, who was in a relationship with Senzo at the time of his death, and Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli, one of the accused, had made contact on two occasions.
The first time was on the August 2 2014 and again on October 15 2014, days before the soccer star was murdered.
A few days after that development in court, organisers of the Tribute To Women concert, at which Kelly was set to perform, issued a statement confirming they were removing her from the line-up.

Kelly's fans have been letting her know they've got her back.
One tweep said: “We won't stop loving and believing in you mama.”
Kelly replied: “I know and I thank God for you guys.”
Senzo was shot dead in Kelly's presence at her mother's home in Vosloorus in 2014. Also present at the time of the murder were Kelly's sister, Zandile, her boyfriend at the time, Longwe Twala, the women's mother Ntombi Khumalo and two of Meyiwa's friends who were visiting from KwaZulu-Natal.
The house occupants claimed Senzo was killed by one of two intruders who barged into the home and demanded cellphones and money. The case is ongoing.
