Bianca Coster has bagged another acting role.
Following her stint playing a successful criminal defence lawyer who is a mother on e.tv's prime-time telenovela Isitha — The Enemy, the rising star was roped in for another role in Mzansi Magic's upcoming film Ugogo Wabantu.
She plays the role of a doctor called Dr Mthembu.
“I feel like I'm moving and gaining more acting experience because it's a different set and a different production, where things are being done differently, so I'm just learning the game and how to manoeuvre because I'm working with some seasoned actors as well and pretty awesome people,” she told TshisaLIVE.
“I enjoyed this role because I felt calmer and in tune with this character, especially because the movie is more comical, so I had a lot of fun with that, exploring another side of me.”
Bianca, who has a BA Hon in industrial sociology, has been exposed to the world of social media influencing as well as modelling. Now that she's ventured into a new industry she is determined to refine her craft.
In July, Bianca joined the Actor Spaces Academy which she hopes will make her stand out and open more doors for her.
“I have been getting some training trying to better my craft. I'm trying to better my craft doing the classes and going for more auditions, so hopefully another role will come up in the near future.”
Previously speaking to TshisaLIVE, Bianca admitted that her beauty has contributed to her climbing the ladder of success, but wants to be known for the strides she's taken in the entertainment space.
“I want to shy away from pretty privilege, I don't want it to just be about looks because looks are fleeting. I am 27, I might not look this way when I am older. So I want to be impactful, have my own productions, be behind the scenes and on camera and have more campaigns that are meaningful and impactful.
“I want people to know that she put in the work to be who she is. I also want to give back because it's not about me and what I can achieve. I really would love to give back, and probably even do something with this whole cyberbullying notion that's happening, I think we need to do something about it in South Africa. I just really want to be impactful. I just don't want to be the flavour of the month ... I want to do work that means something.”
