It seems like Kelly Khumalo has had enough of social media trolls and on Thursday she went on a clap back frenzy going back and forth with tweeps.
The fiery exchanges came when the singer shared where she will be performing next after two festivals withdrew her name from the line-up.
Her Twitter timeline is filled with her replying to tweets that set her off in the comment sections.
“Oksalayo for sh*t! Ningakuthatha konke (You can take it all) I will still be Kelly Khumalo. Wena uzoba ubani? (who will you be?) A hater who rejoices on people's challenges? Oksalayo nala ngizodlula! (This too will pass) Mark my words,” she wrote in one of the replies.
“Siyobonana kusasa bahlali ningiTrendise futhi niyezwa,” she wrote in a separate post, telling haters to make her trend again the following day.
The Tribute To Women concert and the Maseru Jazz Festival announced they were dropping Kelly from their line-ups earlier this week. Both said they believed the singer was “innocent until proven guilty in a court of law”, however, they wanted to give Kelly and her legal team the space to deal with the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.
The Maseru Jazz Festival, set to take place on September 24 at Maseru Park and Entertainment in Bokone, Mahikeng said: “As Maseru Park, we inform you we have seen comments on social media about one of our guests performers. We need to inform our public and society we are putting Kelly Khumalo on hold.
“We respect the professionalism of the legal team on the processes. The management of Maseru Park, in the interest of our jazz festival, have taken the decision to relieve Kelly Khumalo of the obligation to perform at our festival and we acknowledge she is not guilty until proven so.”
The cancellation followed an alleged link between Kelly and one of Senzo's murder accused revealed during evidence presented in the trial. The trial continues.
