Singer Aubrey Qwana recently opened up about his mental health revealing he was depressed.

Taking to Facebook he hinted about leaving music.

“I want to run away but I can’t. This life thing is really showing me flames and I can’t take it any more. I need a hug. After this album, I might just let this music thing go. I’m super depressed and I’m really not OK,” he wrote.

He made his debut in 2019 and has recorded and released several hit songs.

Explaining his music to Sowetan he said: “My music is a blend of almost everything ... but I class under Afro-pop. It wasn’t easy finding my niche at first because of the type of music I was exposed to growing up,”

“Ever since I started singing Afro-pop music, my journey thus far has been such a joyride. And, as much as I wanted to peek and become a star years ago, I’ve learnt to be patient, especially regarding things I want to happen at a specific time,” he said.

Another singer who announced they were quitting music was Lindokuhle “Intaba Yase Dubai” Msomi.

He said he was hanging up his mic for a while, saying it was time to accept defeat.

Taking to his Facebook timeline, Lindokuhle explained why he was taking a break to focus on his record label.

“Let’s take a break. It’s time to accept we have failed. Let’s try something else and move on in life. To everyone who loved and supported me from day 1, know that I love you and I’m not giving up but I have to start something new to survive. I’m still available for performances.

“I got myself a job. And I promise one day if ever we will be free from this jail we in, I’ll give you music as I won’t stop recording since I love writing music,” he wrote.
