Composer Lebo M says when it comes to money he trusts no-one and has alluded to this being one of the reasons he's headed for divorce.

He shared his views in a recent episode of Podcast and Chill where host MacG gave him a call to clear up a few things after he made headlines announcing he was divorcing his wife of one year Pretty Samuels-Morake.

“Am I the first person to get divorced three or four times in the country?” he asked.

He was also asked if he had trust issues: “Yeah, when it comes to money, I trust nobody in my life.”

MacG also hinted that maybe the love thing was not for him.

“You are wrong. This is not about love, it's about money, it's about my estate. It's about giving me assurance that if I drop dead there is no will out there.”

He explained the break-up relates to suspicions he has about the use of his electronic signature.

Releasing a statement, Lebo M said he had asked Pretty to forward an affidavit to him in this regard via email or WhatsApp, which she failed to do.

“This has placed me in a position of great discomfort... I am consulting my attorneys to investigate and verify whether I have any fraudulent life policies in my name and/or any life covers taken to insure my life without my knowledge and consent, as this would be tantamount to fraud,” he said, adding that his rights were “reserved”.

When TshisaLIVE asked Pretty for comment, she said she was unaware of the allegations or an impending divorce summons.

Pretty said it was business as usual in her life and marital home.

“I don't have summons for divorce. I'm also surprised having so many people phone me.
