Comedian Donovan Goliath has been announced as the host of this year's DStv Content Creator Awards in association with Samsung Galaxy, taking over from Loyiso Madinga, who hosted the inaugural event.

Donovan, who won the How I Shot It award last year and is nominated in two categories this year, will take centre stage at the event taking place on September 9 in Sandton.

“This game is very difficult, and often we make all of this stuff with no expectation, it's for pure entertainment,” he told TshisaLIVE.

Some of the presenters confirmed to grace the stage on the night include Kim Jayde, last year’s winner of the fashion and style award, rapper and TV presenter Moozlie and actress, VJ and production manager Farieda “Pharoahfi” Metsileng.

The awards will also welcome back Bontle Modiselle Dance Studio, who will be joined by the nominees in the first-ever dance award category, 250Machine, Adriaan Hughes, Justin De Nobrega, Kelly KiKx and Mr NT.

Bontle is on a mission to help drive a positive narrative about the dance industry in SA.

“I set out goals and missions that are scary, and sometimes I feel are a little unattainable. I do have SA's dance history as a point of reference, and in many ways, I want to be the blueprint of how people can do it better. Especially because people in SA have found dance to be 'that other thing' or 'that hobby' not as a career path, but it is a growing industry.”
