In addition to being a social media influencer and reality TV star, Innocent “Inno” Matijane has added DJing to her growing resume.
Taking to her social media timeline on Sunday, Inno made the announcement to her followers.
In the post, Inno spoke of how she had taken up DJing classes and worked on building her confidence for this venture.
“For years I was afraid to pursue this, even though I knew it’s something I am passionate about. Entertaining the crowd, playing amazing music and making everyone happy at groove. Even started my DJ classes at Rise Academy two years ago. Life got too busy for me and though I couldn’t finish my course, I knew I am not giving up on what I want,” she wrote.
“I am now confident to say I am proud to announce I am about to be your favourite DJ. I am ready to bring great music, performance and happiness to you at groove.”
Actress Mbali Nkosi is another star who expanded her brand beyond entertainment on the small screen. In March 2022, Mbali told TshisaLIVE about her desire to focus on music.
“I had the pressure of everyone around me telling me I understand music, the fact that I play musical instruments and I've written songs, questioning why I am not doing music,” she said.
“There was this boom of so many females DJing and I didn't want to jump on their bandwagon. I wanted my own story. I decided to do it differently and go to school — and when I'm ready, I'll come out.
“It took so long to build my own brand that I'm not trying to create somebody new or create an alter-ego, so I'm going to stay Mbali Nkosi.”
