Since launching his music career earlier this year, Ntobeko “Sishi” Sishi has been on a mission to push boundaries.

The actor, popularly known for his stint on Mzansi magic's Gomora, has been writing music since he was 13 years old and plans to embark on a big project to release a song every week at the start of 2024 accompanied by “quality visuals” on social media.

“I started making music before I started acting. I'm going to release 52 songs. One of my most important things as an artist is to be honest about my journey. What's nice about acting is that I can portray a character, but with songwriting it allows me to tell my own stories in the best way I know, which is through lyrics, singing and melodies,” he told TshisaLIVE.

While he released R&B/pop-inspired music with his first body of work, Sishi said the music he is creating now offers a wider range of sound.

“I want to grow creatively. A lot of the time as a songwriter you feel pressure to make music for the radio and I no longer want to do that. Right now it's about me telling cool stories. I'm making wavy music right now.”

Sishi enjoys being real and personal with his followers.

In June he shared a video clip of his baptism, speaking about the importance of telling his story.

“My most important relationship is my relationship with God. I'm at a place where I don't care what people think. All I care about is the people who listen to my music.”

Sishi assured his fans his venture into the music industry does not mark the end of his acting career.

The former Hectic Nine-9 presenter revealed he is set to make an on-screen comeback in the next six months.
