The three-times Safta winner had gone on a hiatus after battling Covid-19 complications, but made a comeback in 2022.
Reflecting on the year, Thembisa told TshisaLIVE it had been a testament to her fighting spirit.
“Doing something that you love and having to completely stop was heartbreaking for me. I needed to get my strength and my health back to come back and do the work I have been destined to do,” she said.
She has drawn a lot of strength and lessons from her journey of healing.
“This experience taught me I am stronger than I thought, how incredibly important family is, and how to be bold and not doubt myself in the work I do because this is a calling.”
