While Drip founder Lekau Sehoana is associated with renowned personalities and has opened 18 retail shops in the country, his climb up the ladder of success was not as appealing.

In celebration of his 35th birthday, Lekau took to his timeline to reflect on his journey.

He shared an old picture of himself slumbering on the floor after a drunken night, recalling how he used to abuse alcohol at the age of 21.

“Turning 35 and I look back at where I come from. From just a hood drunkard, who’d put Firstwatch into a Johnnie Walker Black bottle. Drinking almost every day, isidakwa nje sase Kasi. To turn my life around and becoming an important figure in society. What a life,” he wrote.

In February 2022 Lekau had his followers inspired when he briefly told the story of his life before he became a successful self-made entrepreneur.

“Drunkard, poverty-stricken and hopeless. But a lover of fashion and the pop culture,” he wrote.

Lekau said he relied on alcohol to help him escape the realities he faced until he decided to quit drinking.

“Alcohol has been a way of me escaping the harsh reality of poverty and pain. I hope you also turn your life around with whatever devil you are facing and make your dreams come true.”
