Hulisani Ravele had an emotional farewell from 947.

For the past five years, the media personality has been the host of the weekend morning show on Primedia’s 947, connecting with her loyal followers.

In late August, Hulisani announced she'd decided to go on a hiatus from media to embrace stillness, introspection and the pursuit of new opportunities.

On her last show, Hulisani spoke of how though she had no idea what the month of October would bring for her, she needed to take time out and reflect on what the next chapter should be.

“I'm happy it's here, I'm excited it's here. I'm nervous. I need stillness, I need peace, and I know I'm going to find an even greater me within that stillness, and that's why I'm taking a break. I need to find myself within it again. I need to know what 35-year-old Hulisani wants for herself, and the future of her broadcasting career,” she said.

“947 has been such a dream come true. I call it the Champions League of radio, this is the best of the best, and I leave here with incredible memories and incredible friendships ... I am so scared to stand still. So often you are just a number, you just keep going but you are not.”
