Since rapper Priddy Ugly announced he was releasing his last album, he has been receiving a lot of love from fans, with some sharing their favourite songs.

One follower said Thula Mama featuring Reba Red & HHP was their fave and Priddy shared the story behind how the song was recorded with the late legendary rapper musician Jabulani “HHP” Tsambo.

He said it started from a series of tweets he was posting at the time. HHP had just heard a song titled Thola Zaka that he was featured on and tweeted about him.

“I reposted his tweet and he followed me and read my tweets and proceeded to DM me about those particular series of tweets. He asked if they were from a song. I said they were just tweets that happened to rhyme. He told me to compile them and make a song out of them,” he wrote.

On the day they had scheduled to meet, his mother made him run errands with her and he forgot his phone at home, revealing Jabba waited for four hours after calling him a few times.

Priddy said Jabba requested an East Rand Kota to make it up to him.

“He arrived later and gave me, Refi and Wichi a warm reception like nothing had happened. We chilled and spoke about life for hours. Eventually, midnight hit and I told him we need to go out to do a show at Cantare. He asked if we could spare him 10 minutes. We did, he went outside to meditate, came back after 5 minutes, recorded his verse, one take, no pen, no phone, no pad. The next day he got his guitarist to add extra production at no charge.”

Cassper Nyovest revealed the late rapper was the one who told him to fill up The Dome.

In a recent interview on the L-Tido podcast, the rapper shared some of the lessons he learnt from HHP.

''I always say what I could've learnt in 10 years I learnt in the two years I was with HHP. The reason I was unfu*kwithable is because I was right next to best, that was the greatest. That's the most commercially appealing artist. Nobody did brands like him, nobody crossed over to white people like him. He did Strictly Come Dancing and changed his brand.''
