Only three contestants remain on Idols SA's farewell season and only two will stand head-to-head in next week's penultimate episode.

Princess MacDonald, from Mpumalanga, is the last woman standing in the singing competition.

The 24-year old has been auditioning for Idols SA since season eight but never made it to the television stages until now.

She told TshisaLIVE she felt blessed and honoured to be in the top three, though it's still a shock that she made it this far.

This is not your first time entering Idols, what made you keep auditioning and what did you do differently this time?

I believe I can sing and the only way to showcase my talent to the world is to enter Idols, because at that time I didn't have any other option. I've tried so many but I guess it wasn't my time. I told myself I'll never give up until I get what's meant to be mine. Til I got the opportunity

This week you are recording your own song. Without giving anything away, are people going to be shocked with your choice, or will it be something they’ve got used to?

I am sure that people will love it and I am so excited about it. It blends perfectly with my voice, though it's a different genre I never thought I would do. But I love it because my voice can take anything. Give me a beat, I'll kill it

You are so close to the finishing line. What are your thoughts about Saturday’s show? Do you think you will make it to the top two?

I am so nervous... Especially having to compete with two guys with a strong fan base but I believe I'll make it to the top two. I've worked hard to get where I am, with the support and love I have back in my village, Mpumalanga, and the world ... I believe they will fight for me.

And If I don't make it, I'd still be grateful. Idols is a platform and I've gained so much experience through it ... I'll definitely find alternatives, carry my experience, knock the doors and continue doing what I love because at least I would have the exposure.

What’s been motivating you to keep on in this tough competition?

My son [Jaden]. He is the first reason I always grind. My background, where I come from. It's something I want to change. I want to be a mom, who's going to be there for him. Become independent and have what I could call mine and also take care of my family.

What message do you have for those that have been supporting you since the beginning of the voting process?

I would love to say thank you to them. I can see the support and I wouldn't have got this far if it wasn't for them. I appreciate them so much and I beg them to not give up on me, to please continue voting. Those who know me would understand how much this means to me. I've come a long way. Without any progress in my life but now I see light and I plead with them to keep shining it upon me. Nna ngwana wa mopulana... Ke leboga kamatla.
