In August rap duo MajorSteez (Steez and Sandile) revealed they had an unreleased song recorded with late rapper AKA and the pair are now ready for people to hear their collabo which drops this Friday.

They headed to their Instagram timeline to post a clip of them sharing Smooth Operator with the late rapper's then girlfriend, Nadia Nakai, Robot Boii and rapper Zingah .

“Watch till the end, dropping this Friday 27.10.2023,” they captioned the post.

In a separate post the pair expressed their gratitude to the Forbes family.

“It wasn’t supposed to happen like this but we’re still grateful that it’s finally coming out. Special thanks and love to the Forbes family, @nadianakai @djzinhle & @vthseason We Miss You Big Bro,” read the post.

During an interview on SlikourOnLife, the pair spoke about their collaboration with the Supa Mega.

They said they were honoured to have collaborated with the late rapper, who was an influential artist in local hip-hop culture.

“It is definitely a dream collaboration. Me and my brother grew up watching him, listening, taking notes from him. Shout out to the late great. RIP. May his soul rest in peace. It’s definitely a smash record. It’s going to be on our debut album, The Sweet Life MajorSteez, so watch out for that one.” said Sandile.

Another musician who has unreleased music recorded with the late rapper is Cassper Nyovest.

In July in an interview on The Episode podcast, Cassper spoke about their impact on the South African music scene.

Cassper revealed the two recorded music together and spoke of how he had hoped to make amends with AKA in a boxing match.

“I thought we were going to get into the boxing ring and handle it there. I thought after that we would be OK and make music. Well, we do have music together that people have never heard. We made a few records together.”
