Media personality Minenhle “Minnie” Dlamini came under fire from social media users on Tuesday when she seemed to jokingly poke fun at football player and ex-lover Itumeleng Khune.

During a sports programme Minnie presents, she made remarks that seem to have left a bitter taste in the mouths of Khune's fans.

“No man guys, Khune doesn't still play,” she said. A voice in the background shouts to tell her the Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper still plays. She makes facial expressions that seem to indicate her disbelief.

Social media users accused Minnie of being jealous and possibly wanting to rekindle her flame with Khune because her marriage failed, while Khune's seems to be flourishing.

The two became one of South Africa's “it” couples when they dated between 2011 and 2013, when they broke up.

Khune has been married to Sphelele Makhunga since 2019 and they have two children.

Minnie has made a few comments about Khune since they parted ways. She also sought to clarify misconceptions that she was once traditionally married to the soccer player.

“The worst misconception is that Khune lobola’ed me. That is the worst one. I hate it. People still think it’s true” she said at the time.

Here are some reactions from social media users.
