Elsa Majombo says she's in a better place after sharing shocking claims about internationally acclaimed model Naomi Campbell.
In an emotional video, the Kenyan social media sensation said she was grateful for people who prompted her to open up.
“Talking about that made me feel free. I feel like I own my life today. I am so happy and I feel so free. The shackles have been broken. I feel like I can breathe. Last year at this time, I would've been sad, and I would've been crying in my bed, and today I woke up and I can breathe. I can go outside and I can look at the air. I can just be happy,” she said.
“Everything I choose to do with my life is me and it comes from me and no one else can tell me what to do. No one has a say in my life, no one controls me. I don't have to tell anyone what I am doing. I'm just free,
“If you knew how low this situation took me, you would be very proud of how I look today. No amount of money, no amount of happiness can buy the peace of mind in my head right now. I don't give a f*@k about my career right now. I am happy and that's what matters.”
This is after she reflected on their first encounter in 2020 in Nairobi where they went Christmas shopping together and later went on holiday.
Elsa said during their holiday Naomi suggested she do a documentary about living in Kenya, and it was during this getaway that someone told Elsa the model allegedly told them she was behind her success.
Elsa claimed that after her documentary about her life, bullying, colourism, and falling in love with comedy debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival she received a phone call from Naomi in March 2020. She alleged Naomi threatened to sue her because she thought Elsa executed her documentary idea without her.
Elsa said when she missed a scheduled call with Naomi, she asked her to not contact her again and things started going bad for her, which led her into depression and alcoholism.
“I started drinking a lot because I wasn't sure why things were going so wrong and I couldn't put my finger on it,” she said.
Elsa said she later got a mutual friend to mediate a conversation between them where they buried the hatchet and she started telling Naomi her every move to prevent the previous incident from occurring again, until she decided to cut ties with her altogether.
“After that, I decided it's healthier for me to remove myself from the situation and get myself out.”
