Multi award-winning Big Nuz member Danger has launched his DJ career.

This comes after a video clip of the artist, real name Mzi Tshomela, spinning decks at a popular restaurant in Umhlanga, Durban, landed on the news desk of TshisaLIVE.

In a clip Danger can be seen playing and dancing to house music behind the DJs.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE the Umlilo hit maker said the entertainment industry has a wide range of sectors.

“I'm not a musician but an entertainer. In 2020 I did acting on Mzansi Magic's drama series eHostela, and I did well. Only now I decided to try this DJing avenue. At the end of the day I'm doing this to make my fans happy”, said Danger.

Danger says things haven't been easy since the death of fellow group member Mandla Maphumulo, also known as Mampintsha.

He said he needed to adjust to the situation he'd found himself in .

A decade ago R Mashesha died and in 2022 Mampintsha died after suffering a stroke , leaving Danger to continue the legacy of Big Nuz.

“I want Big Nuz's name to be alive, hence I'm opting not to change the name as my group members are no more. I'm yet to get bookings outside KwaZulu-Natal as a DJ. I'm showing fans how I've evolved as an entertainer.”

Danger said as far as DJing is concerned he is inspired by DJ Fisherman, Ntukza and DJ Kotin who are known for their deep house electro sounds.

“I'm still weighing up my options whether to record songs as Big Nuz or to focus a lot on DJing for now, but music is music and people will always be happy.”
