Metro FM radio jock Msizi Shembe is adjusting well to his late-night show.
It's been a month since Msizi got reshuffled from Sunday Soul Therapy to the Back 2 Basics show on Sunday nights entertaining listeners from 9pm to midnight. His previous slot is now occupied by Paul Mtirara.
Msizi has been with the station for more than a decade. He previously worked for stations such as YFM, Vuma FM and Gagasi FM.
Taking about his new time slot, Msizi said: “I'm adjusting pretty well. At first I had to line up my events that I'm normally booked in on weekends and work around times just before my radio slot starts.
“Radio is evolving and listeners are there for everyone, just need to keep them tuned in, and keep numbers going up. The introduction of podcasts in the country has really transformed a lot of radio aspects, so with me it's playing more good music and light, interesting topics to interact with my listeners.”
When asked what is he busy with during the week when he isn't on the radio, Msizi said: “I collect a lot of music to improve my sets at events and taste for good music. But in a nutshell, I can be placed on any slot — I'll deliver.”
