Mzansi's second lady has endorsed the Miss World South Africa pageant.
Deputy President Paul Mashatile's wife Humile saw the opportunity to empower young women by endorsing the pageant.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Humile said: “We are pleased to welcome Mrs Julia Morley (Julia Morley CBE is the owner of Miss world globally) and Miss World Krystyna Pyszko of the Czech Republic) to South Africa. The impact of Carol Bouwer's work with Miss World South Africa has been immense in just one year.
“Pageantry with purpose is a catalyst for tourism as well as a pillar of our arts and culture sector.”
Claude Mashego, the reigning Miss World SA, said she has learnt a lot during her reign.
“I have been able to contribute and make changes where I can. I will forever be grateful for this opportunity and the phenomenal lady who takes over will continue to raise the bar even higher,” she said.
Carol Bouwer, licence holder and organiser of Miss World South Africa, says she is building a legacy with the pageant.
“We are building a long-lasting legacy, in particular around the Miss World South Africa, as a formidable brand. I have always been passionate about the work I do and have to surround myself with people who share my vision and passion.”
