After a successful two-year run, Music In The Snow is set to deliver an epic weekend away as various acts return for another spectacular musical happening.
Attendees will get to enjoy a cocktail party on July 26, a hike to explore the mystical Hogsback mountaintop on the morning of July 27, the main event in the afternoon, and a “Soulful Sunday” on July 28.
The three-day festival, presented by the Eastern Cape Jazz Festival, will host a bold line-up of performances by some of Mzansi’s most renowned stars, such as singers Langa Mavuso, Vusi Nova and the Jaziel Brothers, as well as Ismail Abrahams, Paul Mtirara and Amon Mokoena, who will take over the Soulful Sunday and potjiekos event.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Langa said his fans were in for a treat, as he would be playing music from his upcoming album.
“I’m so excited. I haven’t been to Music In The Snow before, so it’s going to be a really special show for me and my band. This is probably going to be one of the first shows where we get to play the music from my new album, which comes out at the end of August. We’re just excited to be performing on top of a mountain, and Hogsback is so beautiful.”
Festival organiser Mlindi Ntloko said he was excited to see how the event continued to put the Eastern Cape on the map as a music festival destination.
“Music In The Snow is what it is today because we have always acted on the feedback, both positive and negative, from those who attend it. We keep on learning from our attendees and use their feedback to make changes to the festival. We also learn from our partners, who play a pivotal role in the event,” he said.
“The Eastern Cape province receives an economic boost from the festival, as it attracts big crowds. We have large numbers of visitors, including international ones, flocking to Hogsback from all over the country and the world to be part of the experience.”
