A year after launching his DJ career, Shaun Naki, popularly known as Shaun Stylist, says he's learning more about producing music.
Shaun first attracted attention through his eccentric dress sense, which perfectly matches his lively and dynamic personality.
Recently Shaun released his single Manje Monday, which he says is a celebration of togetherness and festivity and recognising Mogodu Monday culture.
“I did a lot in shaping the fashion culture in the country. My name became a brand before I got into music. I feel I have cemented my foundation in the music scene as a DJ and I want to focus on production, learn how songs are recorded', he told TshisaLIVE.
“Manje Monday was inspired by my Monday visits to Cosmopolitan in Maboneng, and specially at Makubenjalo Pub in Soweto. The MC there, Tumilemang, always hyped the crowd by chanting ‘Monday', so that's where the song originates.”
The Kwa-Thema born DJ said the dance music movement is evolving quickly and he wouldn't want to miss the chance of deejaying internationally.
“My dream of being a global star is on course and all I need is to work harder as I have built my foundation well and navigated right moves in the music game.”
