Afrotainment boss DJ Tira suffered a setback on his cider.

Two years ago DJ Tira, real name Mthokozisi Khathi, launched his Bearing Cider and it looked certain everything was going smoothly. However, he told TshisaLIVE they had a setback.

“We had a setback with Bearing Cider for some time in manufacturing the product. We were struggling to produce stock to reach to our customers so we had to reshuffle and change manufacturers. Now we [are] coming back stronger and people should expect big things from Bearing Cider”, he said.

Recently the Singenzenjani hitmaker made his return to the clothing industry with Fact Durban Rocks merchandise.

“A combo needs to communicate, if you [are] running a business and you see opportunities, [such as] events that host people, they come to see us and buy alcohol so why don't we push all our brands in that space because music goes with fashion.

“These are not promo T-shirt, promo hoodies or promo tracksuits, it's high-quality material. The only way the brand will expand is by selling it according to the season, so in December, which is summer, we'll sell T-shirts and vests.”

Two months ago DJ Tira was accused of alleged sexual offences.

“When sometimes you want to comment because there's someone talking about you and you [are] like, 'I'm [not] going to stoop to that level where I'm not supposed to go and the best way to handle this is to let the law to take its course'. Our matter is going to be heard on Friday at the high court [Johannesburg high court] because you get a person who'll just attack you and tell you everything and you don't know what to say.”
