Renowned singer and actor Mbuso Khoza is set to start his Ifa Lomkhono tour around the country next week.
The tour will start at Suncoast Barnyard in Durban on July 3 and move to:
- Menlyn Barnyard in Pretoria on July 5;
- Silverstar Barnyard in Johannesburg on July 6;
- Tyger Valley Barnyard in Cape Town on July 31; and
- Emperors Palace Barnyard in Ekurhuleni on August 7.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Mbuso said over the years people have been complaining they've never had an opportunity to see him in their area or city.
“This is just to say I'm making time for them to experience my craft, with my band on my album Ifa Lomkhono, which has been an outcry on my social media page,” he said.
The Eshowe-born singer said his music represents healing and allows listeners to dig deeper into the past and the present.
“I'll take my fans down memory lane,” he said of the upcoming concerts.
Besides the upcoming tour, he is planning to give back to his community. “I'm building a school of arts at home. It's going to start from preschool, to high school. I want the children to discover their hidden talents, just like I discovered mine,” he told TshisaLIVE.
Mbuso used to play the character of Maphalala in the first instalment of Mzansi Magic's Umkhokha: The Curse. He was also one of the people behind the soundtrack of the drama series.
Asked when his fans will see him on the small screen, he said: “I say let them give me at least another six weeks. The walls are going to fall again — I'm working on something big.”
