Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi spoke candidly about finalising his divorce from singer Berita.

During his interview on The Hustler's Corner podcast, Nota opened up about their split after a year of marriage, recalling his last moments with Berita at the divorce court.

“Closure is a good description because as a man, I think the thing you're most obsessed about is not failing at something so it's always hard to accept a failure at anything,” he said.

“I'm excited to have the whole question about that part of my life over.

“For me, the one thing I did not want to do is give up. Whatever goes down, at least let's go down fighting. I still need to prove to myself that I am as principled as I want to be and that's what motivated me to do that.”

Nota said he had not seen Berita for nearly two years and decided to wear a suit she had made for him and smell good to leave a great last impression.

“I was satisfied.

“I gave her a hug and I wished her the best and then me and my dad left.”

The estranged couple's marital woes first made headlines when Berita took to her X timeline revealing she left her marital home in 2022.

In another X post, Berita said she had refrained from speaking about their relationship because she was worried about her safety

“I have been quiet because my safety has been a huge concern. This man is extremely irresponsible, reckless and unruly. He simply does not listen to anyone. I do not condone his actions. I cannot even begin to count the numerous times he has erred in his speech,” she wrote.

“The bullying and disgrace I have faced publicly and privately is painful. I missed very big red flags.”

“The day I decided to leave my marriage is the day I had to choose between being married and being alive.”
