Former radio personalities Hlelo and Ntando Masina have entered the podcast scene.

The twins, known for their radio show Double Up on YFM, have had the entertainment industry wondering about their whereabouts as they have been absent for a decade.

The sisters are siblings of Metro FM's Naked DJ, also known as Quinton Masina and Fortune Masina.

This week TshisaLIVE caught up with the pair.

They said they didn't take a break from the industry but rather paid attention to things which serve a purpose for them.

“I didn't take a break. I got rid of people, places and things that no longer served me and started to pursue purpose. To anybody on the outside looking in, it looked like a step back when it was a step forward in the form of a life purge. I go into great detail about the transition on the first episode of our podcast. It was difficult at first but the past few years have been filled with peace, contentment, authenticity, joy and lots of love,” said Ntando.

Hlelo told TshisaLIVE life is good, as she spends a lot of her time with her family. She said getting closer to God a few years ago was a huge game changer.

“It changed every aspect of my life for the better. Everything has felt airy since. Today we have a podcast called Gifted with Hlelo and Ntando. We started it six months ago and we release one episode a month. We called our podcast “gifted” because God was saying it is time to use our gifts again. Our podcast celebrates the joy of family, faith and the magic of people's unique talents and gifts,” she said.

Ntando said: “We've been serving our family, community and friends in whichever capacity they need. Serving others is what led us to start our gifting business called Behold Luxury. We've also done some behind-the-scenes production work for our big brother Fortune and his wife for their company called Wife & Hubby Creative.”

Asked if they'll make a return to mainstream TV or radio, the twins said: “These days anything online is mainstream. Should the perfect opportunity present itself and it's what's God has in store for us, then definitely. Whatever God says we must do, we will obey.”

The Benoni-born twins said: “We are where we're meant to be and it's exciting. Once you've worked on TV you never really have a sense of anonymity because people always recognise you in the real world. They'll always remind you of whatever impact you may have had on them in their lives. On social media, it's been awesome. We're grateful to have our loyal supporters who have watched us grow and evolve and we're excited about our new audience walking with us in this new chapter of our lives with God and our faith.”
