Actor and singer Mbuso Khoza has postponed his Ifa Lomkhono tour after contracting flu over the weekend.

The Uthando hit maker was set to embark on a month-long countrywide tour.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, the singer said he needed time to recuperate.

“My voice isn't well and I decided I'll have to take it easy and not rush things because this situation is not of my own doing. I know how disappointed people are with the postponement of the tour, but its nature. It's my body that isn't 100%. I felt I should give my body time to recover and give my people the best shows,” he said.

“Humble apologies to the people who were looking forward to seeing me perform on those tour dates. My team has advised me to change the dates so that I go there with full strength. My voice had problems due to the weather and travelling across the country shooting as an actor. The fatigue and the flu have set me back from taking part in my tour, so I had to choose new dates. It's for the best to postpone, I really need to give my all on that tour. I don't want to give my fans something that's not up to the best of my ability.”

The new Ifa Lomkhono tour dates are July 6 -Silverstar Casino, Johannesburg; August 30 — Menlyn-Tshwane; October 16 — Suncoast, Durban; and November 9 — Tyger Valley, Cape Town.
