July 18 marks eight years since the death of celebrated race driver Gugu Zulu. His widow Letshego took to her timeline to commemorate his life on the anniversary of his death.

Gugu died on July 18 2016 while summiting Mount Kilimanjaro.

Letshego shared a montage of the last images Gugu had taken with the caption: “Eight years later. Gone but never forgotten. It’s amazing how smartphone technology works. These are all images and clips shot by him on his phone.

Miraculously they synced into my phone and created this video clip. So, take a moment and view some of his last images.”

Thembi Seete also recently took to her timeline to remember her late friend, singer Lebo Mathosa, who died in a car crash after a performance, aged 29.

“Happy birthday, Angel Lebo Mathosa. You’ve been on our minds and in our hearts a lot lately. We talk about you every day and miss you so much. Yesterday was especially tough, but we found comfort in sharing memories with Oskido and enjoying your favourite dish, special chicken chow mein. It’s just not the same without you. We miss you more than words can express. We feel your presence every single time when we are on stage. Thank you for the gift of music.”
