Event organiser and producer DJ Reftown is optimistic that the Macufe Festival will regain its popularity after having experienced low turnouts since the outbreak of Covid-19.
The annual event, which kicks off in the first week of October, includes sporting events, a jazz concert, comedy shows, potjiekos events and many more activities.
DJ Reftown, real name Refilwe Morgan, says he will be hosting a series of events at the Cubana in Bloemfontein during the Macufe week.
“It's going to be an unforgettable one, as Friday to Sunday I'll be catering to everyone's musical needs from deep house tunes and amapiano sounds.
“Everything was fine until Covid-19 struck us and we were forced to adhere to the precautions given to us by the state. But as things got relaxed again the event hasn't been the same like before,” he said.
“With Bloemfontein being so diverse, we will be sure to regain the good old glory days of Macufe. The main goal is to bring everyone together for a good time and lasting memories.”
