Prayers and get-well wishes have been flooding in for rapper Da L.E.S, real name Leslie Mampe, after his family revealed he was recently hospitalised.

In a post on his Instagram timeline, the Mampe family said the former Jozi group member suffered a stroke on his birthday, on Friday, which led to him missing his celebration party and ending up in hospital instead.

“The family of renowned South African musician Da L.E.S is deeply saddened to inform the public that he suffered a stroke at home on Friday July 26 and has been hospitalised. While he is in a stable condition, this remains a challenging time for his loved ones and his family call on the public to keep him in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult period.”

DJ Ankletap, Manu Worldstar and Lalla Hirayama were among the celebrities who took to their timeline to pen heartfelt messages to the star.
