Da L.E.S, real name Leslie Mampe, is said to be in a critical condition after suffering a stroke on July 26.

In a post on his Instagram timeline on Sunday, the Mampe family said the former Jozi group member suffered a stroke on his 39th birthday, which led to him missing his celebration party and ending up in hospital instead.

After a report by Zimoja alleging the All Eyes on Me hitmaker's family asked close friends for financial assistance to pay for his medical bills, a source revealed to TshisaLIVE Da L.E.S was moved to a public hospital.

“Half his face is affected. He can't talk, he's just lying there, it's bad. They were taking him out of a private hospital and to a public hospital. I've been there and there's nothing wrong with that hospital. The machines are working and the nurses are amazing. It's going to be a while before he recovers. I think it's like Lira's situation,” the source said.

TshisaLIVE has reached out to Da L.E.S' mother Priscilla Mampe for comment. An update will be included once received.
