The issue between socialite Vulela (Uber Eats dancer) and Cosmopolitan nightclub management has been resolved.

A video clip showing Molefi Nakedi, popularly known as Vulela Ma'weekend, being pushed and shoved back to the Cosmopolitan in Maboneng for failing to pay a R35,000 bill went viral.

Vulela Ma'weekend told TshisaLIVE he wasn't skipping the bill but had glitches with his bank card.

“I got my rider [alcohol provided with artists' requirements] from the club as I was booked to perform. I ordered from my own pocket and had four champagne bottles. When it was my time to pay, as I was tired and wanted to get home and sleep, I had problems with my card and I had to create a new pin,” he said.

“I told the manager to accompany me to my car and sort out the card issue. I was surprised when I went to the car I was surrounded by bouncers who claimed I was fleeing the scene. They pushed me back to the club and everything was sorted. I only realised in there I was inserting a wrong pin, but I have apologised for what transpired.”

“This whole thing was blown out of context,” Cosmopolitan manager Tenny Tshabalala told TshisaLIVE.

“Vulela has apologised and we, as a club management, have extended our apology to him and his brand. What happened to him could happen to anyone while in the environment we found ourselves in. Everyone in the club was having a great time and none of them, including Vulela, expected what transpired at the end.”
