Thandiswa Mazwai has condemned her music being used to spread hate.

This after gender justice and social activist Anele Mda put in Thandiswa's hit song Nizalwa Ngobani? when showcasing an e-mail she sent to the Miss South African organisation with a call for the beauty pageant to be a space exclusively for South African women.

In response to the post, Thandiswa called for Anele to remove her song.

“I do not write songs that must be used for hate. My songs are to foster change and encourage more love and justice in the world. The song used calls out the names of Nkruma for a reason. African unity,” she wrote.

“Yes we have problem with undocumented people and criminal syndicates. The government to fix that. Mob justice is precarious. And don’t forget the difference between xenophobia and Afrophobia.”

“Please unfollow me if you think Pan-Africanism is the same as allowing criminals to run amok in this place. Unfollow me if you think foreigner only means black people from other parts of the mama land. Unfollow if you think black nationality makes someone intrinsically criminal.”
